WAX PREP
For best results, exfoliate 24hours before with an exfoliating glove or dry brush etc.
Do not apply any creams or deodorants to the area.'
Avoid wearing anything uncomfortable to your appointment, like lace underwear or tight denim, and opt for a sundress, sweats or something loose if you can. The less rubbing and chafing you have right after a wax, the better!
If you’re worried about pain you can take two Tylenol 1 hour before your appointment and avoid caffeine beforehand.
WAXING AFTERCARE
TO BE EXPECTED
Experiencing Stubble is to be expected for the first few waxes after shaving or even when it's your first time in a while.
NO TOUCHING
Avoid Touching the treated area for 24-48 hours. Our hands hold a lot of germs, and between our daily routines, the germs could potentially affect our open pores. Hold off on sex for 24 hrs., you can do it!
EXFOLIATE
EXFOLIATE! Exfoliating your skin not only removes dead skin cells, but it also helps improve circulation, improves skin turnover, ensures moisturizers and serums are absorbed correctly, decreases chance of ingrown hairs, and minimizes stubble (hair left behind) .
PLAN AHEAD
No swimming! Meaning no pools, beaches, lakes, or rivers for 3 days after a wax. If you are traveling or planning a trip to the lake or beach, book your wax 72 hours before then. Our pores are extremely sensitive and open. Going anytime sooner could cause your skin to be put at risk.
LOOSE CLOTHING
No tight clothes or undergarments. Let your skin breath. Too much friction and irritation will cause your skin to bump up, creates ingrown hairs, and redness.
AVOID HEAT
No tanning, sunbathing, sun beds, or spray tanning No hot showers, bubble baths, sauna, hot tubs, massages, or steam treatments .
SKIN SENSITIVITY
Redness, histamine reaction, folliculitis are all common reactions to getting wax for the first few times or even when changing waxers. I highly suggest taking it easy after the service(s). Aloe vera and suggested moisturizers will be helpful to ease irritation.
MOISTURIZE
Moisturize your skin! With waxing, exfoliating, hot showers, body wash ingredients, chafing, and friction from clothes we are unbeknownst to drawing moisture from the skin. Also drinking a ton of water and staying hydrated is key!
LENGTH CHECK
If you have shaved, trimmed, or used any creams you must wait 2-3 weeks before booking. Ideally your hair should be 1/4th of an inch, this is equivalent to a rice grain's length. If your hair is too short, waxing will cause skin lifting & a ton of stubble left behind.
